Still hear you shouting at the prison gate
I wish we bounced off to a distant place
We were scoundrels to participate
But today we drink a round to commiserate
I chose to exit, run a different race
Then watched our brotherhood disintegrate
While I was working on my inner state
You were moving work along, interstate
I told you that your pals will put you in a cage
You're slithering around in a pit of snakes
I heard you used your linen to asphyxiate
Last time that we kicked it you said grinning
That's the risk you take
Don't bother me to play another role
Don't bother me 'cause I'm not gonna crawl
Don't take me in, don't let me down
The wounds will take me to the ground
You can see that I won't fall
Now I can take control
Control
I can't believe that I'm seeing this: on the powerlines, your Adidas'
Just hanging there
I took it like a torpedo hit
Yeah I'm a piece of shit, I'm feeling like I'm a piece of shit
You texted that you needed me, I declined on reading it
Couldn't come to read it, I couldn't ease your bleeding
I couldn't help you breathing, 'cause you couldn't free your demons
And I couldn't take the load to save your soul from Satan's hold
Now its either pay that toll or break the mold and take control
Don't bother me to play another role
Don't bother me 'cause I'm not gonna crawl
Don't take me in, don't let me down
The wounds will take me to the ground
You can see that I won't fall
Now I can take control
Don't bother me 'cause I can take control
Don't bother me 'cause I am not gonna crawl
Don't take me in, don't let me down
The wounds will take me to the ground
You can see that I won't fall
Now I can take control

Excellent, genre-defying album. It obliterates the line between rock and electronica but never loses sight of both heaviness and pop hooks. I can't believe this is a one-man project. The songwriting and production are just too well done. This is no work of an amateur dicking around in his bedroom. This guy is a total professional. dharmalogos

What can I say?! This EP speaks to me on a level that's almost the very fabric of my being! I've loved LeBrock for many years and Shaun's new project as House of Serpents is beyond exciting! The sound is deliciously darker but the hugely catchy riffs are there along with Shaun's unmistakeable vocals. You'll be singing these choons at the top of yer lungs!
